The Clearview Difference

Clearview Stoves are the world industry leaders.

Heat and efficiency may be the most important considerations, but view of the fire must follow closely. Clearview Stoves have been designed with exceptionally large and strong glass windows that give an excellent view of the fire. Clearview’s fire-view has to be seen to be believed.

Unlike conventional stoves, the Clearview air distribution system means hours of clear fire viewing, without sooting or tarring of the stove windows.

Clearview burns mixed fuels, or just coal, without detracting from the wood-burning efficiency.

Clearview Smoke Control®

The photograph left was used to announce the successful testing of our stoves for use in UK Smoke Control areas. We are very proud to be the manufacturer of the first multi-fuel stove to pass.

This means that “Clearview Smoke Control Stoves” can be used in smoke control areas throughout the UK to burn wood and any smokeless fuel authorised. You can enjoy the warmth and hypnotic flames, with efficiencies so high that smoke emissions are five times less than a conventional stove.

Our stoves are renowned for their simplicity and reliability and so we are very pleased to have passed such a stringent test without having to resort to installing a catalyst. Field tests have shown that the performance of catalytic stoves is often drastically reduced after only a few seasons of use.

Clearview stoves are designed for and by people who want clean burning, high efficiency, combined with the finest craftsmanship and traditional styling.

Some of the features that make Clearview Stoves superior to other stoves:

  • Clean burning (cleaner chimney, less air pollution).
  • Clean glass, and more lively fire.
  • More airtight construction.
  • Doors adjustable to maintain air tightness.
  • More usable firebox space.
  • Stainless steel ash pan for easy ash removal.
  • Separate wood and coal air controls.
  • More solid and durable construction.
  • Firebox refractory lined.
  • Less fussy on fuel and chimney requirements.
  • 30 day money-back guarantee.
  • Made in Britain.

The stove in the photograph is a 750 High Canopy, the largest stove in our range. The inglenook fireplace was built from old Ludlow bricks. For the colour we chose golden fire to pick out the warm shades of brown in the bricks resulting in an installation that is in harmony with history.

This stove is easily heating a building thirty-six feet by eighteen feet, open to a ridge height of approximately fifteen feet.

Inglenooks with vast chimneys, though often very handsome, are also responsible for uncontrollable draughts.

Heat from the fireplace is swept up the chimney taking with it the warmth from the room.

The average fireplace burns at an efficiency of less than 15%; it’s problem is that whether burning or not, it pulls an enormous volume of air up the chimney. This is why our feet and backs remain cold. Smoking problems are often experienced, and with heat being pulled from the room, negative efficiencies are common.

A Clearview stove will not only produce many times more heat from the same fuel as an open fire, but draughts and smoking can usually be cured.

Our stoves are easy to light and will burn for long periods unattended giving wonderful fire view.
